Comedy on Vinyl 1960/70's North England.?

Can anyone tell me who the man was who was a comedian and did comedy acts in front of an audience possibly working men's clubs and his shows were put onto vinyl. Comedy was all about working cl life. He could be from Sheffield or Yorkshire, North England. The covers of the albums were black and white and some of them had chimneys on them. 12 " albums. You can hear the audience laughing in the background as it is live. He may have been called Fred but not sure. Thanks for your help. Been racking my brain for ages now.
