Can we claim a child as a dependent if he doesn't live with us, and his mothers boyfriend claimed him as well?

I'm not sure if child support counts since it is usually a legal mandate, but if you are voluntarily supporting the child financially, then it seems like you should be able to claim it on your tax form. I would suggest, however, that you ask a professional tax accountant.
