How would I move my fish?

I have a 10gal aquarium with 2 guppies, 2 mollies and 2 platys. i am going to college abd moving into a dorm and im taking my tank with me. the college is about 2 hours away. how would i move the tank in a way that i can carry it from the parking lot up a few floors? is it safe to put a few fish into a tupperware container and replace the majority of the water? or do i need to put the water in a cooler or something
