Wheres the best place in Cape Cod to vacation?

I'm going to Cape Cod for the day at the end of the month and I want to be on the bay side. Which town would you recommend for the best beach and daytime entertainment? I'm leaning towards Sandwich. Good idea? Can you suggest a good inexpensive motel to stay in? Thanks so much!
